Babiesmoon Planning Updated...

I know, I get it. I've got no clue either what to do (which I know isn't really a bad problem to have here).  So here are some more pointed questions:

1. What's a really super good book that you're digging on right now- and not one that will help me keep a baby (or two) alive.  I need a break from the "mommy guides" and just want a book I can get lost in for a bit as B sleeps (notice that I'm writing this in the wee hours of the morning...woke up at 3:30am today, can't get back to sleep. Boo.)

2. For those who take warm baths, am I missing anything here? Before the Luckies, I used to take hot, hot, hot baths and loved them.  But that's a no-no now- so how do we feel about luke-warm baths? Is it lovely? Should I try it?

3. Writing thank you cards on your babymoon.  Yes or no? Need to do it...this might be a good time...

Ready...GO! ;)

  1. Take the thank you cards. You may wax poetic with all that down time. But take a good book, too. Walk into your favorite bookstore and look at the suggestions from the bookstore employees. They don't work at a bookstore for nothing. They know and read books!
One of my favorites is "The Secret Life of Bees". I would loan you another favorite, "I Capture the Castle", but the dog tore up parts of it and I had to tape them back together. Have fun whatever you read.

  2. Hmmm...how about The Help? Or, any of the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo books?

    Sure...take the cards.

Baths are just an issue for your body temperature. There's concern about it getting too high if the bath is super hot. I forget what the temperature is. Warm baths are fine...I took them often when pg.

    Have fun!

  3. I would loan you my copy of "I Capture the Castle" since you don't have a dog! I don't think I'll see you before then though. I hope you guys have an amazing and relaxing weekend!!!

  4. I've had issues getting through any book at all lately. *sigh* Let me know if you find a good one.

My doc said baths and hottubs are actually fine - they just say "no hot baths" b/c people are idiots and forget to stay hydrated with cool water to keep their internal body temperature down. I took a moderately hot bath last week and it was heaven - I just made sure I drank plenty of water and stuck my arms and legs out when necessary. I also have a tiny tub so my belly stuck out, but that wasn't planned. :)

I'd bring the thank you cards in case you're inspired, but don't feel like they HAVE to be done by any means!

  5. The Help is a great story about friendships and strong women. And a good, quick read. I don't know if you are into Jenny McCarthy, but her Belly Laughs is a funny account of pregnancy. Definitely not your typical "baby" book. No matter what, enjoy the down time! Happy babiesmoon!!!

  6. Being that is it 115 outside baths dont sound appealing to me, so idk if once you get in it it will even feel good??
You know me i really like trashy romance novels because you can get lost in them and forget about your life entirly... one of my favorite romance writers is lori foster. Her 3 book serious right now is really good, well good for being trashy. lol
You can lay around, go out to the pool, eat, come back inside, relax, eat, back to take a dunk in the pool...whatever is relaxing to you.
I think the point of this weekend is to get some personal time with your person, before your not really alone anymore. Which in no means is bad, but you have to think, you and B arnt just gonna be a two man team anymore, There is gonna be an addition of a very stong little boy, and a pretty little princess.
I hope you have a fantastic time.
